Guests are starting to leave Rome's Hotel Hassler en masse for the festivities at Bracciano's Odescalchi Castle.
With rain starting to fall, Tom Cruise was driven out
of the hotel garage around 3 p.m. The van was escorted on the 18-mile journey north to Bracciano. Holmes was driven to the castle earlier in a
blacked out van -- and her father was later spotted dashing into the Hassler
with a worried look on his face.
After taking a walk down the Spanish Steps, and prior
to dressing for the event, Brooke Shields was asked what she wished for
the happy couple today. "Just happiness and peace
and that they can remember all of this," she told reporters.
A fleet of cars and vans ferried the attendees 18
miles north of Rome to the rain-dampened castle, but mystery still
surrounds whether it will only be a Scientology wedding, or whether it will also
include a civil ceremony. The mayor of Bracciano had earlier denied being
involved in marrying the couple.
